Heather Pierce
is a singer, songwriter and most
recognizable as the front
woman for San Francisco based electropop
group, Karmacoda. Aside from
writing, recording and playing live, their
music has appeared on various
electronic music compilations (San Francisco
Under a Groove, Destination
Lounge: San Francisco), in independent films
(Neverland, Paris,
Voyeur) and on television (MTV & SpikeTV).
Karmacoda's song,"Swan"
won the 2003 MRG Independent Music Award for
best song used
in film and television. Their track
"Where You Sleep" is featured
in the
upcoming comedy "The Last Run"
(New Line Cinema), starring Fred
Savage and
slated for release in the fall of 2006.
As a vocal
coach, Heather enjoys helping her students
achieve their
varied
musical goals. A performer for over 20
years, she has a strong background in
jazz, pop, rock, electronica and musical
theatre. Her extensive
live performance experience gives her an
edge in helping singers
prepare for auditions and stage work both
vocally and visually.
Heather has been studying privately with
Dave Stroud since January
2000 and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in
Music, Theatre and Photography
from the University of Arizona.
